Tuesday 6/28 V-V Ranch
Crossed the US-Canadian border North of Havre, MT. Tiny place but state of the art border facility. We must have been photographed and on video a mile before we even arrived. No problems.
Recalled all we could from 40 years ago, still had to ask where V-V (V bar V) Ranch was located.
Quite a few changes since 1974. Several new owners -currently the Larson Family occupies it. Met Dan Larson and Brother-in-law. The several owners over the years have sold off many acres but 9,000 remain of the 72,000 we knew. I believe about 5,000 are cultivated and can be irrigated. Crops looked nice. 1250 cattle grazing. Gas wells.
The large shop, bunkhouse, and two houses we built still there in good shape. Other buildings have been removed over the years. Dan filled us in on some of the recent history. Quite a story. Should have a book written on it.

The foundation and fireplace from the original residence. Maybe in the future the Larson will experience good times and rebuild this log cabin? Wouldn't that be just peachy!
Notice V-V boldly still visible
The main buildings with shop from the cabin spot
V-V sits by the Red Deer River with water for irrigation!

Patrica Hotel
We just had to have supper at the old Hotel in Patricia for old times sake. Grilled our own tenderloin.
Memory lane is not completely broken down yet.
Stopped in Brooks AB, next to Calgary. Nice folks here. Cannot forget the kindness of the Canucks. They are a bunch of quality folks.
Thanks to our great neighbors!
