Fort St. John BC thru Northern BC

Lots of long stretches of woods, broken by the occasional tiny fence corners with one filling station with shop and a few outbuildings.  Rather desolate. Other travelers are quite open to visit with "Where are you from?"

A few scattered camping establishments show RV's often along a river or a lake. Not many wild animals until we met a good herd of bison.

The bigger bull totally ignored us. Didn't talk to him
since he wasn't very communicative.

He had his herd along with about 8 calves.Must be 2-3 months old.

Young bull also not interested in what we were doing.

Shaggy and unkempt. One would think with all
the attention they would try to look presentable

Stopped by a roadside park area. Heard the babbling of small waterfalls all night.
No services but quiet spot in the trees. Two other RV,s in the area.

Sun just stayed up much longer than we are used to. Finally we went to sleep - still daylight about 10:30 and it is still bright outside.
Other than the river noise were  able to sleep well. The mosquitoes seemed quite hungry. Probably couldn't get to the other campers since they attacked us as if they hadn't had any blood for years. Maybe they still remembered to cat-skinners when the Alaska Highway was built. Very friendly sort  of critters.

Up after 4:30 AM since it seemed to be time to milk the cows. Almost seemed like we didn't need headlights when we started driving at 5:00 . But  we had some good driving with hardly any other traffic. So on we go.....more later.
