Rainy Lake Louise, Banf, & Jasper

Left Cranbrook, British Columbia with nice sunny skies but it changed to rain off and on up to Lake Louise -in Alberta. This lake is fed by snow and glaciers-not streams with sediment. It normally looks crystal blue/green.
Lake Louise was still impressive even with rain.
Tons of folks in the area but we were fortunate to arrive just as a good rain shower hit. Folks were leaving which allowed some parking spots to open. It looks like some folks had to park along the road and walk quite a long way to the Lake. It was still very full of visitors.

The entire Jasper/Banff area is stunning at almost every turn

Of course this Bighorn Ram had to pose for a photo. (I promised I would post it on the web!Ha!)

We did see a few elk, deer, and a black bear. The bear had an injury on his hip. Maybe someone's vehicle has some damage?
This one was busy stripping berries off the bushes beside the highway

We are so glad we detoured to see The Canadian Rockies. It turned colder just a bit after we left on Tuesday morning. Had frost along the road.

Oil and gas exploration is a very large industry in Alberta and British Columbia. Many miles of forests broken by occasional oil exploration. Trucks all over. Some road construction but needed as always for all the industry.  Cannucks are a friendly sort. They have a great sense of humor.
