Tuesday 7/19 Homer

Homer was overcast it seemed today as the smoke from the McHugh Creek forest fire drifted South blanketing the Cook Inlet. Hard to see across the water.  The spit was interesting- lots of boats
Quite smokey on Cook Inlet and the Homer Spit

Looks like Texas will have to play second fiddle
to the Homer AK region on fishing

Coast Guard on duty with Cutter Hickory

Breakfast included reindeer sausage omelet.  Seemed like it must have been an old one Santa Claus
could easily do without him next Christmas.  Now why else does one turn a four footed animal into sausage , pray tell?  If the steaks would be so good it would not be sausage.

Still no sighting of "meese" so generously advertised on road signs
They must be called meese since they are apparently are so numerous.
Gobs of them have mysteriously disappeared!

Speed limit is 25, well sometimes 35 on the back winding roads. So watching for critters is mandatory. Photos needed to document their existence. Wifey is constantly on the lookout for erratic steering. Which allows the driver to watch for those elusive and unseen critters all over the creation.  And should the the wheel encroach on the curb a nice "Vatch Dich" is uttered and streering is immediately corrected!
The search of critters can be maintained. However all good things must come to an end when the speed limit is increased on the thoroughfares and the search for critters diminished.
