Capernaum, Sea of Galilee, Mt of Beatitudes

The Hometown of Jesus with synagogue and many houses.

 Extensive archaeological work can fairly accurately date and determine 

the residents of the area. Some richer and some poor.

The darker sones are basalt from local sources

Lighter limestone was probably scavenged from ruins of the Jerusalem Temple

 Wish I knew all the details the archeologists know

Lower "street" level had the animals and work area, 

next level up consisted of living quarters

The Sea (Lake) of Galilee water level is perhaps

 25-30 feet lower than previous. The main fresh water supply

 for all Israel is being steadily diminished.
