Dan, Ceasarea Philippi, Bethsaida, Kursi, Magdala, Valley of the Doves

Started the day leaving Tiberias -Hotel Ceasar

Sunrise on the Sea of Galilee

The beginning of the Jordan River comes from melting snows in Northern
Israel. Clear cold and watering the area

This tree seems to be mostly burls. We could make
lots of interesting items on the lathe. Not sure what kind

Pastor Bill pretending to sit in the judges chair in the old city
of Caesarea Philippi. All who had issues to be resolved would come and be judged
This was at the entrance to the city

Our pastor/leader  explained all the intricacies of archeological digs

It is likely that Abraham passed through this gate on
his travels when the Lord said to him: " Go to the land I will show you".
This is in the Canaanite area that was given to the tribe of Dan when the
Children of Israel conquered the land after the Exodus

A diorama of the Abraham Gate mostly made of mud-brick

Walls and excavations in the same Canaanite area

Today's Golan Heights taken from Syria in
the 6 Day War of 1967. There are still areas where it is mined

Cattle grazing on the mined area. They may become
McDonalds hamburger in case they step on a mine!

Entrance to Caesarea Philippi, a pagan city and later a Roman
city, like an entrance to the nether world. Jesus preached
in the area. It was here Jesus asked Peter if he loved Him...
then asked him to feed His sheep three times.

Our 85 year old fellow traveller dining on St. Peters fish
which still had it's eyes open. I guess the fish tasted real good.
